I don't have a vertical grip.

But I will never stray from Canon and Nikon for dSLR.

yes i do shoot with the grip. so far if wif dslr,.... no future. but hey S5pro still serving me well and i don't see i need much changes and i'm contented with it.

if PnS,.... future way ahead.

whatever things may go it's more important to be concern with lens systems. so for me i choose NIKON lenses.

both format will stay for sometime at least. those who always shoot tele will appreciate DX format. those who shoots wide will prefer FX. DX will always be cheaper than FX, you got money?

on one note and FX lens on DX may perform well from center to edge due to the sweet spot. if on FX, the lens may be much softer at the edge. 2 sided coin so far.

my 10 cents worth

North to south, with or without Vertical grip doesn't matter, just shoot!

Common? future? Change your way of thinking maybe you'll have a future.

just another point to note, depth of field control with FF is a wee bit difficult especially if you are used to shooting with huge apeture lenses(1.4,1.2)

(got a shock when i used a 5D with it for the first time)

And when shooting landscapes, light fall off and sharpness is a also a pain for the landscape shooters, even when i stopped down, the problem was still present.

so for now...... crop for me

For me, I will use the vertical grip if I am shooting an event or portraiture. I will remove the grip when I do street shooting, landscape or travel photography.
