Looks pretty ok, some are much better than the crappy ones posted by Strait Times.

What lens are you using and any flash? Seem like you have a very "good" seat.

u are not allowed to use flash at sporting events plus the images appear to be shot from the sidelines.

Wow, the pictures are great! You sure you're not one of the press photographers or the Singapore team substitutes?

Yah man I also say. I'm keen on sports photography as well and I figured that one would need at least 200-300mm reach, and PLUS you'd need to be right on the sidelines to get good shots. Virtually impossible from the stands.

Were you on the sidelines?

Care to share your ISO settings since you mentioned that the lighting at National Stadium was bad?

Great job by the way!

Thanks, yep i was on the sidelines. Start from small mate, a school, local football team, weekend sports and get a good set of images from that. And then you have something to bargain with and that can then lead you to a spot on the sidelines, if you have your contacts.

I was using ISO 5000 for all of these shots except the first. And only achieving shutterspeeds of 1/400s, which is to slow, but i cant brighten up the stadium

Thumbs up anyway, especially #13 - when Noh Alam Shah chose to control the ball with his head rather than cushioning it with his feet. He ended up pushing the ball a yard too far and the Jordanian keeper had the chance to pick it up. Good thing he eventually scored the winner. Caught the game on telly.

I like the framing, expression on NAS's face and positioning of the ball as he miscontrols it, sending it too far away from him. And do I detect a small tinge of deliberate irony with the Team Singapore billboard right smack in the center of the picture? Heheh good one, whether it was intentional or not.

Perhaps you could have cropped out bits of the crowd from the top of the picture to make it 'cleaner', but hey, that's just my suggestion.

Heheh yeah I play football and I have my own team as well. It's just that I spend more time on the field than snapping on the sides!

haha no mate I didn't stay around towards the end but I regret it now.
ahh I've got to work on my captions, but that was when he had tapped the ball abit to far when he was 1on1 with the keeper.

mate, you are lucky to even have iso 5000 in your machine. i only had 1600 in my machine, 1/160 at 2.8 and gotta make do with that. if you shot RAW, you shouldn't have any issues, apart from the possibility that AF would suffer due to the *bleah* lighting conditions....

Yeah i shoot RAW but upping the exposure during PP the ISO starts to show more, and yuo start to see abit of banding. While you get uneven lighting, more highlights at the jersey and the eyes are still not properely exposed.!

lol this happened after he scored the goal. around the 85th minute. the ball was played long by Shi Jiayi from midfield.

just remember you aren't shooting a fashion/model shoot, where lighting is meant to be closer to "perfect".
