The brightness and color temperature on a monitor change over time and calibration compensates for the changes. If you maintain a monitor at the same condition, you can be assured constant color at any time. Keeping constant color is crucial such that what you see on your screen should closely resemble what you see on another calibrated screen.

I am offering a Monitor Calibration & Profiling Service to all Home (and SOHO) users for the need to maintain constant color for their LCD/CRT monitors. Monitor Calibration is pre-requisite to correct color printing; adjust your image colors correctly before you send them to print.

System requirement
: Win 2000, XP (32/64bit), Vista (32/64bit) & Mac 10.3 (or higher)

Hardware & Software for Monitor Profiling
: Spyder3 + [Spyder3Elite v3.0.7]

Calibration of front projection screens possible.

Desktop rate:
S$50 ($40 for 2nd subsequent set) - 1st timer
S$45 ($35 for 2nd subsequent set) - repeat customer

Laptop/Notebook rate: less $10

Price include program installs(uninstalls) [duration 1~2hrs] + own transport.
Price per visit are for 1 computer, 1 install(uninstall) & 1 good monitor profile (will re-do till results are satisfactory).

For example, if you have..
a) 1 desktop monitor + 1 notebook, 1st timer pays $50+30 ($45+25 for repeats)
b) 1 notebook, 1st timer pays $40 ($35 for repeats)

If you engage my services, pls note that prior to my arriving at your location, do ensure that you...
a) have the latest graphic driver for your computer,
b) remove any existing Adobe Gamma from Startup folder & disable all power saving features (including Screen Savers),
c) reset all displays to factory settings (only for Brightness, Contrast & Color),
d) get your system running for at least one hour,
e) use appropriate tissues/cloth to clean away dust on your monitor

When calibration have completed, you may wish to restore your favorite screen saver or power management settings but please do not reactivate Adobe Gamma, or any other automated features which can affect your Brightness & Contrast as they can conflict with your new color settings.

For ATi Graphic users, pls note that the calibrated profile may not work when Catalyst Control Center (CCC) is in operation. Pls remember to update your graphics driver to the latest version (now ver 8.12) in order to minimize such risks. However if such problem still exist, the CLI resident program may need to be disabled prior to system startup before calibration can work.

COMPARISON:
I compared the results from the Spyder3Elite to the profile I created with X-Rite’s i1Display 2 and EyeOne Match software. Both tools produced excellent profiles with slight differences. I found that EyeOne Match gave me warmer tones and a slightly brighter display than the Spyder3 did. However the Spyder3 gave more neutral grays and slightly better shadow detail.
