I am having a rough decision-making situation..to buy a S2pro or S7000(when it arrives in Singapore). I know both are 2 different era of camera but i am comparing because both a 6MP cameras. I sure would like to hear comments from S2pro owners and all those waitin for the release of S7000 in Singapore. Hopefully that will help me to decide.

erm, actually there's really nothing much to compare between the S2Pro and the S7000 if you presume the contact point will be that both are 12mp output digital cameras..
a prosumer will always be prosumer and a dslr is a different league altogether. both can produce stunning pictures if used right, but as a previous 602Z user, i felt the shutterlag and the lack of a ttl flash very crippling in some situations. of course shots can be timed and anticipated but i gotta admit the responsiveness of a slr greatly increases the chance of u getting the shot 'the time u wanted it'. ![]() |

I am also waiting to buy S2 Pro or S7000.This is my opinion.
S2 Pro---DSLR, can changes lenses , more lenses variety, can changes flash ,different flash different power outages and look like a pro. S7000---procomsumer, latest ccd, point and shoot camera, not versatile, has limitations on lenses, flash power powerful . If for point and shoot S7000 a league on its own. If for professionals used S2 . I am waiting for the prices drop.Bargaincity still is the cheapest prices. |

some points I'd like to raise. 1. Both cameras can use external flashes, because both cameras have the hot-shoe. 2. S7000 is a prosumer camera. ANY camera will end up as a point and shoot if you don't know how to fully utilise it's functions. Both the 2 cameras discussed here function just as well for point and shoot. 3. There's no point looking like a pro and shooting poor pictures. Unless that's the whole idea then I've got nothing to say. Wearing David Beckham's boots won't make me play like David Beckham, if you get what I mean. 4. What makes the S7000 not versatile in your opinion? In fact it has most of the functions the S2pro has. 5. The price difference between the two is quite drastic. considering the S2pro will not come with any lenses and you still have to fork out more money to buy lenses. 6. Why is the flash power of the S7000 powerful when the S2pro's in built flash has a higher guide number than that of the S7000? just a few points I wanted to highlight above. Hope you don't mind.
