You should take a look at Sony Vegas Movie Studio as well. You can buy it at Challenger, Treasure Productions or Aone.com.

HI,
Sony Vegas...thought of it but so far not sure the capabilities. Transition, manual effects , FX, Hollywood FX...etc fantastic; like pinnacle? I like the dimensional effect using the NERO, the quality of DVD burn of both. I can still recall I can edit them into a window of 4 in one while transiting a still image across the screen or appear and vanish into the background. Can Vegas do that? So far, Ulead to me has nothing worth looking into. Cos it is a very basic function, probably slightly better than window movie maker that's all. |

Vegas can do PIP (picture in picture) using track motion. PIP is how you get 4 videos on screen at the same time. It also includes quite a lot of filters and transitions. If you want to check out any specific feature there is a free demo download. Here's the link if you're interested.

I am so surprised that Pinnacle does not support direct import of AVCHD from the camcorder. Was pleased with Version 10 plus but it does not have this feature. Transitional effects were so far the best, even surpasses that of adobe premiere suite 2. The others got to just try it.
According to the reviews of the URL you put, I checked pinnacle web...it says "Pinnacle Studio Plus works natively with HDV and AVCHD footage. Native HD support means you’ll get the same pristine quality from your original source all the way to final output – without transcoding and in real-time. You can even combine projects that mix standard and high definition video and photos for a final result in full HD resolution" sounded like the review is not that accurate afterall or was it referring to the plus version?? Adobe premiere seems to be in my next list looking at the same URL of comparison. As for Sony Vegas, yet to try but according to the chart; No Stabilizer, No Zoom, other than that so long as the variety of transitional effect is more or able to be customized will be good; doesn't really matter the type or brand of the softwares. Anyone with a clearer feedback who has used these and is able to make a comparison?? |
