Default Chinese New Year 2009

It's our first time to join the celebrations since Chinese New Year is not a holiday in our country

Here are a few shots..

Bustling Chinatown

Lots of stores selling goodies mostly for good luck and prosperity.

Streets all around Chinatown was lit.

Night shot of the popular Buddhist Temple.

We came across an auction.. lots of Chinese artifacts. I tried listening to the auctioneer but I couldn't understand a word. He was talking fast and his English has a strong accent. I was wondering how the foreigners were able to bid

This street performer was playing his harmonica and kept on going round and round and round..

If I were the ox, I wouldn't be that close to the firecracker..

Lots of Chinese delicacies were available. You have to line up for it though because of so many people buying.

3.. 2.. 1.. 0... Happy New Year! (these are about 5-meter long firecrackers)

Of course, the new year won't be complete without these..
