Can someone tell me what a lady should do when confronted by an attacker?
ALSO - your tongue can be your sword and shield as long as you both speak the same language! A thug came up to a friend of mine, picked him up by his shirt and told him he was going to beat him up because he didn't like his face. My friend told him that Jesus loved him very much no matter what he does. The guy put him down and walked away.

wow really!! I reckon thats one way...
Another if you see that the beating is kindda imminent.., I heard of this technique.lol

    Go TOTALLY BONKERS!!
Yes, you go CRAZY!!, SCREAM!!, GROWL!!, smash your tripod against the floor, drool from your mouth, turn into an animal...you get the point.

Usually these thugs are just picking 'soft' easy targets.
You may just discourage these fools if they're less than committed.

For the young wushu is a healthy sport and has been introduced
    even in the primary schools.

For a healthy exercise some people prefer wushu for its gracefulness
and its ability to used as a self defense tool when the need arises.
We are glad that the young has been encouraged to take up wushu
    seriously as a sport.

For some enjoyment regarding the sport:

Well my friends, I am not saying martial arts are no good. But most of the martial arts these days are merely sports and teach us to tolerate / respect each other. And you need a lot of courage to combat even the non-physical combat. Look at all these martial arts, how many of them still allow you to practise full contact? There are rules that train and limit your serious fighting ways.

Like I mentioned before, the good fighter (be it the good or the bad guy) not because he is skilled or mucho. But because he is damm gila brave, there is no fear from the beginning till the end of fight.

Don't tell me have they not thought of the law penalties etc... to them, nothig matters at those time. They just do it. So run without knee-jerk, head towards the main road or crowd. Only fight for defence when you have thought of it clearly the consequences and pain that you are ready to bear.
