Default Auto white Balance inaccurate

Hi Guys,

I find that the AWB isn't accurate for the S5Pro, especially in indoor lighting....Anyone has this issue?

Yes, you are right.

Depending on the lighting situation, shooting indoor and even outdoor at night, the S5 Pro may renders inaccurate color temperature. However, it is not as bad as some Canon and Nikon DSLRs.

Thanks for the advice, guys.

How about WB for Flash? Do you set it to Flash WB or auto?

I prefer to set it to Auto. I will get strange results with the latter.

I see. Thanks for sharing. Just to share my personal experience, when I took a portrait at the river ang bao last week with flash (setting WB to auto), the Flash light creates a bluish cast on the subject. Maybe it is due to the orangery background from the ambiance light. However, when I set it to Flash, the skin tone of the subject looks normal again.

True. The Auto AWB can be unpredictable at times.

However, indoors with Flash WB can create a bluish cast sometimes.

usually the case when you have a single type of ambient light source. most cams have this issue. but once you have different types of lighting, the S5 Pro usually produces very pleasing results.

the whitebalance for s5 is not too bad on auto, sometimes it over-corrects and loses ambience
