It has been long since I posted any night shoot. Just went out to take some photos of the night cityscape.

They look a bit blur. Did you do any PP such as sharpening after resize?

Nay. I seldom do PP on my shots that I post online.
Just change the White Balance and the effect is straight out of camera.
The original looks fine on my computer, maybe because I had save at a lower quality.

What resolution did you upload to photobucket?

I find that if you upload large size (kb or resolution), some sites do poor compression levels or image resizing that spoil the shot.
For flickr, if I upload 12megapixel pic, it will resize to 1megapixel (free account) which reduces the image sharpness, and also poor compression.
I always resize my images to 1megapixel (1024x1024 max), and do any final touch ups like sharpening before I upload to flickr. That way, it does not resize my image and recompress.

My resolution is only 96dpi.
I usually resize until a few hundred kb only as I am using photobucket. Thanks.

francis, have you tried taking 2 exposures, one for the background, and one for foreground.

i like #1, but the buildings are too dark for me in the back. double exposure with layering will take care of this, it is not hard either.
