Cool Second 5DII Wedding of 2009

The EOS 5D's high ISO performance is simply amazing but you know that already!

Apologies for the slow reply. I spent a few days of the festive holidays at my in-laws and I had my laptop there except the broadband was down. The 5DII has fast AF and the centre AF focus point is fast to lock focus too.

Yes, I made that shot in burst mode and while the AF is fast, the camera simply doesn't have enough frames per second to nail the cork and the bubbles in the same frame. The critical moments before the bottle is popped, I pay a lot of attention to the groom's body language as well as how much the cork has moved ... after a while, it's not hard to anticipate moments like this but really, getting the flying cork in the shot would have completed THE MOMENT!

Not the best composition but without the cork in the air I would have most certainly deleted this.

This pic I shot with the 5DII for the first time—unedited and ISO 3200 with a usable shutter speed fast enough to freeze the bubbles.
