For dance event shooting you may want to use a flash or raise your ISO.... unless you can shoot at F2.8.... then that is a different story...

Thanks for your advise. Might try with flash next round but I think without it but use Manual with ISO 80 - 100 or even 1600, pictures still look OK. Most of the pics were taken without flash. More to learn to improve further.

Raising the sensitivity may allow you to shoot in low light but will not adequately compensate for the type of shadows, created by strong light without blowing the highlights, such as in these pictures of yours

The easiest remedy for event s is to use flash light to "fill" in the shadows.

by saw this picture, i think i saw you shoot from level 1 near escalator rite?i guess too far and the angle not good for this shoot..you should move yourself in-front of people as you could and not stand so far to shoot picture..also try to get yourself in good position shy shy eat yourself wide angle with zoom for easy to shoot, flash very very help too .. my 2cent

For Vivo shoot... ideal is to bring a "chair" or ladder along... to get eye level shots...

You are talking about at West Mall, right ? Yes, I was at Level 1 near the escalator that night shooting. Not a very good angle indeed but want to try it out with zoom. I have taken the earlier dances in the day a day before, so trying it out at night this time to see what the effects are.
