Default 6th Men's Asia Cup Hockey

Was in Kuala Lumpur for the 6th Men's Asia Cup Hockey finals...

My D60 is not fast enough for most action (ok ok, it's my inexperience as well... I know some folks were using D30 during the last soccer world cup). This is my first try at taking fast action ball sports, so do pardon the quality.

A bit noisy as well at ISO 800 and ISO 1000.

The semifinals (South Korea vs India & Japan vs Pakistan)

India's Dilip Tirkey trying to win back the ball from South Korean Lee Gye Sung, as his teammate Lim Jung Woo looked on, in the semi final.

Pakistan's Ahmad Alam looks on as his team won over Japan for a place in the final

"Aaaagh, a miss opportunity"... must be on the mind of Kenichi Katayama, while Japan played on Pakistan in the semi-finals.

Pakistan's Rehan Butt, seen here leading an attack in the semi final match against Japan

contiues...

Jubilant Indian fans celebrate as their team beat Pakistan 4-2 to win the Asia Cup.

something a bit too long from the sideline... the old EF400mm f/2.8 with monopod. (boy it's really really heavy... no joke carrying it around and up the stairs to the press room).

The last few shots was with my EF70-200mm IS.

Was lucky enough to gotten the media pass thru a PJ pal in KL... the big 400mm used is his agency's as well. Should have borrowed a DCS520, think might score better action with it.

Were at the SuperX but without any pass... only shot from the sideline.

P.S. not with any press or mag... Got an opening for me?
