i just heard from a friend canon prices up today by 10%. He got this infor from john316 and nikon up next week.aiyo..canon is mad...so yesterday was canon last great singapore sale??

i set up a L fund(not Lehman bro but Canon L). Morrow start emptying all the L in sgp. Ship to aust,canada,europe. Haha after CNY huat ah! Better than buy banking stock.Now got those wine la,art la funds. So why not a camera fund...also consider as artwork.

Why sgp never buy over canon and nikon?cheaper than buying citibank and don't lose so much money.Honda/Toyota close factory to reduce cost,Canon and nikon extend working hour to produce more lens is it? :laugh:

Anyway, I think they can do it. Lens buyers are very inelestic. I am going to get my L lens this week.

so after cny lense price will be

100% + 20%(price increase) + 7% (gst) = 127% (total)

so if we were to ask for discount...
we still paying more than 100%...

The price increase is real. There will be an increase, just a matter of how much. Last time, people from SG were buying from HK and USA just because it was cheaper there. So they made it cheaper in SG. Now, they're taking the benchmark from the strong yen currency, and balancing prices with Japan's.
