the first thing to take note is your horizon.
the eariler photos i find a bit flat and under

from what i see most pic taken with 70mm. Where you took the pics from? Seems like you are rather close to the boat?

heh
yup! i was chasing the boats (legally) with the twin engine boat going at 2 x 5200rpm that i'm on.. managed to be in the start line then fly to the upwind mark before the boats reached and rushed down to the downwind mark.. it was super wet in the boat..

i think i've got some salt water on my d90 sucks

wow! how do you know i took most at 70mm?

by horizon, do you mean to show more of the sky? or is it half sky, half sea?

winfrid, nice pictures from the race. however the race pics are mostly underexposed -- you can compare it with the pictures of the boats in port. see how much more vibrant the colours are.

also, some shots of the action at mark-roundings and of sails raised/lowered will give the pictures a more dynamic feel. close-ups of the crew at the winch or at the bow will also be great action shots.

too bad you're using nikon or i could have passed you my tele lens! wasted.

oh no lah, just check the exif. Cos i saw a few other photos with ppl commenting that even 300mm not enuff. So was quite surprised when i see the exif haha.
