Having fun with my lomo cam on Saturday morn. Waist-level view finder is such a joy to use. Big, bright, and 3D. Enjoying the weird expression of passerbys too...

ya, focus is challenging. but getting the right exposure is more. slightly overexposed will give a bluish tint, as seen in the 九鲤洞 pic. ![]() |

i meter with A100. settings accordingly to match the lubitel just to get the shutter speed right. I used Fuji PRO 160S. Bought from shuttergal $180.

Great shots! Haha, looks like I'm gonna do the same too (Using another camera to meter) if I get a TLR of my own.

nice shots from your lubi.
i've got a lubi 166 universal, very similar to your 166B. they take great shots and are a lot of fun to use. besides using another camera to get exposure reading, might i suggest the "sunny f16" rule. i find it very useful in estimating exposure. in a nutshell, in bright sunny conditions, a shutter speed of 1/film ISO and an aperture of f16 should give reasonable exposure. oh, here's a tip i find useful when using my lubitel, i use a remote cable release to activate the shutter instead of the actual lever. i find that it minimises camera shake, specially when i press the lever down too quickly. |

![]() You are luckier. mine did not c/w the remote cable release. My maths is lousy, trying get a bit of bokeh at F5.6 on my lubi I cannot count the shutter speed liao... ![]() |

say you were shooting at iso 400, and with the f16 rule, shutter speed = 1/iso speed; 1/400 at f16 would have given you a correct exposure. say you're still shooting at iso 400, and with compensation due to the change in the aperture, your shutter speed should be faster; 1/1600. is my calculation correct ah? ha. |

my lubi f stops are: 4.5, 5.6, 8, 11, 16, 22 shutter speeds: 15, 30, 60, 125, 250 looking at the hardware limitations, for 160film, f number cannot go down to f8 since there's no faster speed than 250? it is worse for 400film when f number cannot go less than f22 on a sunny day. am I thinking correct? ![]() |

and when you go up or down the f number by # number of stops, you compensate the shutter speed by # number of stops. look at this link for the f stop table. http://www.riversidecardiology.com/fstop/f-stop.htm this is a shutter speed table. http://www.thornton-oetzel.com/ken/l.../ss_table.html
