Hi
Anybody can share on the method when using external flash for portrait shots in a function room. How was the flash positioned and what is the mode to use(e.g. M, AV) to produce a photo without over exposing the subject and how far away should we stay from the object when taking portrait. Recently i was taking photo in a function room and some photo turned out to be over exposed even the subject and myself were almost on the same distance, subject was constantly changing as they went on stage for lucky draw prizes.I was using 40D+18-55IS+Sigma 530 flash and i got this feeling that the flash was playing tricks on me. Please help, or there is any sites that i can read up to better my skill in flash photography. Regards ![]() Keith |

Did you aim the flash at the subject? If you did, try bouncing the flash at the top of the ceiling.
What's your ISO settings? |
