auto color/auto level

Hi, can anyone can point out the difference between auto color and auto level?Anyone using macromedia fireworks as primary source of digital manipulation would have discover that there is no auto color but whereas if you use ps7, there is both auto color and level. any digital gurus out there care to share what u know?

The Auto-Levles automatically defines the lightest and darkest pixels in each channel as white and black and then redistributes the midtone pixles accordingly.

Auto color does more or less the same but with colors, not shades. You can read more about Auto-Colour here,
