Hi
I read that macro lens can be used for both close up shots as well as portrait shots. Any recommendations for Canon 450D? ![]() |

All macro lenses can.
Depends on your budget; 50mm, 60mm, 100mm, 180mm.

started with a 100mm, then to 180mm. No regret. The only regret is i should have upgraded earlier.
Cheers! |

depends on how far you want to be from your subject.
This was taken with the canon 100mm macro. Got it second hand for about $550. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8572476@N06/3205630437/ You can use it for portraits if you're not planning to shoot full body. It's not ideal for full body shots because you'll need to stand quite far away, if you use it with a 450D. The canon 60mm may be a more versatile lens for both purposes |
