* Passage of Fire [Fireflys and Satya] *

SMU Arts Festival 2009

This is the second time around that I had the privilege to view performances brought by Bornfire. The medley of dance and theatre combined with fire elements by Fireflys and Satya were visually attractive and exhilirating. I found myself clapping enthusiastically when I'm supposed to be capturing those moments .. hehehe!

The below shots were taken with Sigma 30mm, mostly on F/1.4 although a few were taken with F/8 or F/11 to achieve the liquid fire effect.
My limitations were mostly from the background which was too cluttered (I solved this marginally by dodging and burning) and me being stationary in my seat (front row, couldn't stand up or move around). And of course, low lighting with no flash : )

Nice captures Feb! I particularly love #4. Somewhat signifies that even in the world of the dark, there is always light to lead the way. Gives me the feeling of not to give up hope
