CPL is a great thing to have though...

Most of time CPL is used when sun is more or less than 90 degrees above your head, or you want to get nice reflection or get rid of reflection...

on akababy picture...it's true that without CPL will get such thing...because at sunrise or sunset the gradation is already nice because of the sun angle...

Use PP and you will see the gradation break and you will see a breaking line between gradation if you darken it... just remember "Garbage In Garbage Out" better work it out the best way with your camera than always using PP

Best way is to own one...

here is some of my pic that I took with CPL + enhancement with PP

Still not interested on having ones?
It's just a matter of taste with passion...just watch and learn...

    Love picture 1 and 3!

CPL is a good to have but i think not really a must have. Cos you can choose to work around the limition of without having it. But if got spare cash this will be good to invest. You never know when you will need it.

My CPL are mostly left over from my SLR days, have Hoya and Cokin CPL. I have recently bought another CPL because I can't find my old one. Main use is to remove reflections from showcase and shiny surfaces. I mostly used them to reduce the reflection from car windscreen, but it removes shine on cars too.
