I think abit OT... but I hope this is useful:

There is a few "Kit Lens" for the 450D, I am using the Kit 2 (18-200mm), I have used it with a 580EX2 for some Wedding Event... So far no complains (but remember to bring extra batteries & memory cards) ...

In a wedding day dinner event, the flash is very very important... If you are the main/only photographer I don't think you have time to change your lens. I have yet to know of a wedding photographer to use a 50mm prime for the dinner shot (mainly because of the cramp space). One thing you may want to take note is the barrel distortion at 18mm (on your kit lens). You may need to spend some time on PP to correct this issue. Hope it is useful

No problem... for further discussion it would be best to discuss it on a new thread instead...

BTW, i would really like to thank all those who responded, giving me room for more consideration. I truly appreciate it

whatever the others say about newbies shooting weddings, no second chance, etc...don't worry about it. i'm sure your cousin already knows what you can do (or cannot do), that's why he asked you. besides....you providing free service right? how to complain? just go ahead and shoot.

if you are set on the 450D, then just go with it. i'm sure you will produce decent wedding photos with it. don't worry so much bro.

actually i don't mean to say that you are a newbie, i was just saying that the difference might not be able to be detected by a newbie. this means that you may be able to detect it.

i apologize; i could have made myself clearer in my earlier post.
