Hi all,
I've plan to buy back my old favorite model F11 as my old was broken. It is selling at RM500++ not sure the amount yet... shouldn't be over RM560 gua... Is it worth buying at this price .. Since it's already obsolete? *I'd recently replace my old with Panasonic FX38.. Fail to meet my expectation.. not even near my F11. ...So now.. i will stick with FUJI.. ![]() By the way, I've tested F100FD which advertise in ad as RM999 if trade in with any old model, the result is near to FX38. Not worth buying le... Don't know why now a days those compact camera doesn't do well in low indoor environment. ![]() Please advice~~~~ |

I always thought F100fd low light quality is only slight difference from F31fd, and F31fd is better than F11.
Can't find pics to compare both quality.I'm a F11 user and still working great, how yours was broken? I love it and will use it till the day it die which I think it's hard. Must be very old stocks if still available now, but must be careful it's really brand new and not refurbished. If budget allows, I suggest to get the newer model, many improvements over F11. The major one is 28mm lens, I find F11 38mm is way too narrow, more difficult to capture group photo and landscape. But then no aperture and shutter priority mode... Thanks for the reply pchmj.
Mine was broken because of my son. He accidently drop 'em on the floor, broke the zoom lens. Way too pricey to repair. Not worth repair. I haven't found F31 at any of the local shop. Hope to get a hands on test. My main purpose to by a compact camera is to take photos in a low light indoor environment and mostly friends and family. With my F11 it does a great job. Great picture and quick shot. I don't even need to on my flash at all. As for F100FD. I've tested it and compared with my Panasonic FX38. Both gives me similar pictures except F100FD has better colors( more natural). But then, they both don't do good in low light environment ( without flash) I didn't manage to take picture in a very low light env. using F100FD. But with my Panasonic FX38, flash off, the picture comes out near black and pixelated. I had no such problem with F11 before. ( I'd compare by taking photos on the same spot, I've taken with F11) Not sure how is F31. If it is good i might try harder to search of it. I've found a comparison photos of F31 with F100FD. Take a look here http://imapnet.com/boren/F31vsF100/ They should test on people... usually low light environment taking photos of people is the hardest. Gosh... F11 , F31 or F100FD which to choose? Stick with F11?? |

I have F11 and F31d. Also intensively tested F50fd and F100fd when I bought them for friends.
F11 is good, but F31d is better. F100fd is the next choice. In my test, F100fd has almost similar performance for lowlight as the F31. Not to be compared by pixel peeping, Print out the result of both, the F31d only slightly better in noise compare to F100fd. But I can strongly recommend F100fd for new buyer. Don't buy F50fd, the lens is lousy, very high corner softness. |

F31 is slightly better than F100 and F31 is better than F11. How about comparing F11 and F100 in terms of noise control and image quality? I want to know also in case mine has problem in the future.

but if you look at the link above (http://imapnet.com/boren/F31vsF100/) the F31fd is still clearly better.
megapixel race = no real user advantage ? |
