Hi there. As for me, these 2 are good cameras. I suggest that you go and have a feel and test which one suits you.

if both are same price, go for the D80. lots of reasons for it.

Do you want a flame war Canon vs. Nikon?
![]() Check www.dpreview.com, they do extensive tests and sometimes direct comparison of certain models, e.g. for noise. Plenty of information where you can compare the technical features and numbers in detail. Finally, better is what suits your needs, a feature being superior or inferior on paper doesn't help much if you don't use it. Go to the shops, try the cams in your hands and see what feels better in operating. No point getting a cam for the sake of a rarely used feature but you get a headache when you want to change some standard settings in the menu. |

You must consider not only the camera but the system too...

For me, 400D.
Since I have quite a few canon lenses already. ![]() |

i like my D80 and its kit lens too, 18-135mm 3.5, 5.6. Eleven focus points, Nikon Creative Light System, very good focusing ability in low light condition, very short of start-up time... top control panel (LCD) etc.
