Default whoever says kodak@ikea is good consider this...

they still crop away a bit of the sides although i oreadi crop in 3:2 wif photoshop. I find this irritating leh, sometimes a little bit of the head, hand or leg are "chop" off.

the last time i printed at far east, both soo kee n kodak dun crop away any of my photos... tink i will stick to far east from now on sia.

anyway, the kodak@ikea has friendly service, so thats a + point. But just for the fact that they crop away my sides, i not gg back liao. now comes the worst part, I still got $40 balance in my membership account! wah lau eh, tink i use them when i print for my frds.

but tis is oso a problem mah, how i know exactly how many mm they cut off? On the monitor, i cant measure oso. In addition, how to know they cut off the left side or right side of the photos? if they use their judgement a bit then at least not so bad, but if the worst scenario they bochup anyhow cut how?...
these many uncertainties are risks which can be prevented by printing at places where they dun "extra" crop my photos lor.

Since you say they are quite friendly, maybe you can talk to them about this 'problem'. Show them the pictures compare to what is seen on the computer. If they work on this, all benefit.

yup, always leave some allowance. not sure whether it is common problem.

personally, other than 1 day collection for normal service, i dun think anything good. expensive for non member, only 50cent per 4R with min 41 print. staff sure friendly enough but hey, you go there & hand them your stuff for print, it doesn't cost you more than 5 mins. it doesn't matter.

at funan main entrance, there is you which normal service is 4 hours. price is 35 cent per 4R. no handling fee for > 30 print. i think they used fuji paper.

Not sure if this helps. but I always ask them to print with white border, so they just fit in my entire image onto the paper, leaving a small white border, no cropping needed. An option you can consider if you find extra cropping worrying.

Nope no extra charges. They treat it as an option juz like whether you prefer glossy or matt finish.
