For cheap makan just eat at any road side stall. For slightly "higher class" food, I usually eat at the restaurants at Siam Square.

For shopping, perhaps you can check out the weekend market.

Erm... Just nit picking but you'd never find pineapple rice in thailand. Its not a local dish, originated from S'pore actually.

One thing you may like to try out if you have the time would be to eat at Chinatown. Try the $10 sharkfin, bird's nest and stuff. Quite good.

The other must visit is Kao San, the backpackers street. Brimming with energy, especially at night where you can find many food stalls (most of which is manned by foreigners) and interesting stores peddling typically thai-wares. It started off as a backpackers street, but eventually became a tourist attraction in its own right.

*eating: must try roadside stalls, chicken, pork, fish etc Want high end ones, go to any shopping centres along Suhkumit Road and look for the foodcourts. For high class restaurants you need to get out of Suhkumit Road, try Rama 4 Road or Rama 9 Road, a bit difficult if you have no transport yourself.

*shopping: MahBoonKong (MBK for short), next to Stadium MRT station, nearby is Siam Square. Also if you dont mind the sweat, can go to Chatuchak weekend market, it is next to the MRT north bound last station (forgot the station name) The market only opens on Sat & Sun early morning to mid afternoon.

*body massage: you mean Thai message or body message? RA leh.

*girly shows: dont waste your time and money, but if you really want to waste, hop into any taxi and the taxi driver will gladly introduce you to the best show in Bangkok, he will also wait for you to finish the show and send you back to the hotel (it is safer that way).
