Took quite a few pictures of orchids last year. They are not particularly well taken or anything, but I quite like their colours and how well-formed some of the flowers are.
Putting some of them up here for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to comment. ![]() It had just rained a while ago, and I thought the water droplets added a nice touch to the densely bunched up orchids. ![]() These are just pretty, especially in the fiery orange colour... ![]() |

I particularly like this kind of orchids, which have large side petals.
![]() I thought this side profile is fairly unique. ![]() |

I tried to get a back-lit effect for this one.
![]() And tried to get the yellow against whatever bit of blue sky I could... ![]() |

I'm using a Pentax K100D, mostly with the Tamron 90mm, and some with Pentax DA*16-50mm.Thanks! I love your insect macros! Still trying to learn to shoot bugs. ![]() |

Bathed in harsh sunlight...
![]() Tried to get the effect of "one among many" here, but I don't think it turned out very well. ![]() |

These have a rather unusual pattern and look, not to mention attractive colours.
![]() Small but numerous ![]() This looks like a forest of orchids. (Pity you can see some man-made elements in there) I think I could have done better here getting everything in focus rather than using shallow DOF. ![]() |

Hope you do not mind I share my photo here in your thread, as I saw you have posted all the pretty shots here.
This shot was taken at SBG using Canon 50D with Tokina wide angle lens, with aperture priority, if I remember it right. It was sometime ago. ![]() |
