Default How to change battery in Braun electronic toothbrush

    Hi,
I think I need to change the battery in my Braun electronic toothbrush but have no idea where to send it for this. I have searched the net and found their customer service number but I could not get through that number so I don't know if it's still in use or not. Anyone knows of their number or where I can get new battery? If you still have the manual, can you please help me check the number as I can't find my manual.
    Thanks!!

    Beste Singapore Pte Ltd
    6 Tagore Drive #03-04,
    Tagore Industrial Building,
    Singapore 787623
    Tel: 6552 2422

Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (Lunch hour 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm), Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.

If the product is out-of-warranty, I suggest that you change the battery yourself if you are a very handy person. It is actually very simple. Here is how:

Tools you'll need - 40W soldering iron or soldering gun, 60/40 resin core solder and contact cleaning solution.

    1. Insert the tab of the changing base into the slot located at the bottom of the handle. Twist anticlockwise direction to release the bottom cap. (be careful as there are very fine wires connected to a coil).
    2. Hold the handle upside down and push down the metal shaft (on a hard surface) to release the internal components of the handle.
    3. The battery holder will appear.
    4. Desolder the battery terminals.
    5. Spray some contact cleaning solution onto the contact points.
    6. Replace the wore AA size Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery with a fresh one.
    7. Reverse steps 4 to 1.

    Thanks...
I think that was the number I called but perhaps it was outside office hours. Will try again during the listed time.

I don't have a solder... and in any case, I will need to get the battery from them. I'll just get them to do it if it doesn't cost much. If too ex, then perhaps more worth it to buy a cheap solder and do it myself... hehe. Thanks for listing the steps... hopefully, they'll change it for free when i buy the battery.... haha...

Thanks to this forum, I actually went there this am.
Friendly staff, and if you bring your old Braun, you can trade it in for a discount of 20-30%

They do not sell the batteries though.

Bring your charger alone, it can be traded in too.

    You are welcome.

I change the batteries in both my Philips Sonicare and my wife's Braun toothbrushes. Both brands of toothbrushes dismantle same way.

By the way, I use Maha PowerEx 2700 AA Ni-MH batteries in both of them.

Definitely save me money when I can replace the batteries myself.

Yes, the original batteries were Ni-MH also. I recharge the same way as before.

I do notice a sightly faster charging time especially with my Philips Sonicare.

So any rechargeable Ni-MH battery will work?
Does Powerex sell batteries in 2's? I need 2 for Braun right?

You wanna help me do? I buy the batt and bring to your place... can pay you a fee.
Where do you stay? Can PM me? Thanks.

Yes, you can buy two PowerEx batteries from Eastgear. However, you need to use only one for each handle.

Sorry, I prefer not to service for others. Just in case anything goes wrong, at least I am not liable. Furthermore, since I am not a qualified-technician, I have no rights to charge you or help service your toothbrush. I hope you understand.

Bring it to Unicell at Sim Lim Square #02-41. They will replace the wore battery for a fee.

This has been a handy thread. I didn't know the fixed-battery versions used AAs inside them.

Yes, I have tried it several times with both Braun and Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes. Both use an AA-size Ni-Cd or Ni-MH battery.

I am not sure. Since I DIY, I did not check their prices. However, somebody I know had the battery in his Philips electric shaver replaced for S$40. Electric toothbrushes should be around that price range also.

Do they supply the battery too?
There is a shop on 3rd floor, at the back row of the lift called Sigma AV... they repair and sell mostly AV electronics but they can repair other stuff too, since this is just simple soldering. I know the owner well, his name is Alan... he might be able to replace the battery for me for a lower fee than the $40 Unicell. I will check with him and see how.

    The $40 include batteries?
