Default Modifying tungsten light battery connector

Hi,

Does anyone have the skills or know-how on how to modify the video light like the link below?

I believe if you buy from B&H, the Lowel id Light comes in either the cigarette lighter connector or the 4-pin XLR connector. Wondering if anyone knows how to modify it so that it becomes a mono jack and have it connected to 12V rechargeable batteries?

I don't think it is safe to do that, mono jack is for transmitting signals, high current pass thre will be very hot and may melt the jack.

How about modifying the battery's output to use a 4-pin XLR pin connector? The reason is for portability. I checked B&H and the battery pack is between 1kg to 2.5kg. With the use of rechargeable batteries, I won't need to lug such a heavy battery pack around.
