Default S5pro low light focusing

Hi, I am interested to get S5pro but like to know how is the low light (-1EV or -2EV) focusing accuracy of this cam as compare to Nikon D300? Is it very slow? Anyone like to share?

I have came across online S5Pro guide (in form of e-book) that recommend user to use 7-auto focusing points instead of 11-auto focusing points. U can do a search for more details.

An upgraded firmware of version 1.09 or higher will improve low light focusing. With older firmware, the camera will hunt a bit before locking onto focus.

The D300 uses Multi-CAM 3500DX autofocus module which features 51 focusing points. Without doubt, this newer module will focus faster and hunt less in the dark.

By the way, the aperture size of your lens is another crucial factor which will affect how your camera's AF system performs under low light situations.

of course D300 AF better than S5pro. afterall they are so many years tech apart. in most case S5pro AF is sufficient at least for myself.

This is like comparing father and son. Who do you think can run faster and see better?

This question may not be as straightforward as it seems. My Dad can run faster and see better than me.

Alamak.... You need to exercise more and eat your carrots.

How do you expect yourself to become a wedding photographer if you cannot run faster and see better than anybody else?

Haha, that's why I'm working as a vet. All the time in the clinic, don't have to move very fast. When doing surgery, pretend I can see is good enough.

Thanks bro,
So the S5pro got no problem locking in focus at extreme low light situation, so safe to say that it is 99% ok..... my previous cam got problems locking in focus... so have to make sure the next cam will not hunt all over the place....

It depends on the lighting situation. There is no such thing as 99% lock-on focus in dark. Even a D300 hunts under extreme low light.
