Default FEE Error on D50

I am suddenly getting an FEE error on my D50.
This just started after i used a new Kingston 2G SD card which i bought in China. I had to throw the SD card away since it kept giving me errors after about 100 shots. I am sure it was a fake card. My original SD Extreme III card is now giving me problems and giving me an FEE error.
I can now no longer take photos usign the camera.
Has this fake card passed a virus to the camera?

Any help would be much appreciated.

FEE is not a card error. its a lens contact error

what lens you using? if you using a D lens it could mean the aperture ring is not set to the orange mark.

Hmm, you haven't paid your FEEs to the camera, so you can't shoot.

Ok cold jokes aside, FEE is displayed when the lens contact is not correct. Or if your lens has an aperture ring, the aperture is not set to the minimum.

I've encountered that on my D50 before as well. End up is the pin on my 18-135mm lens. After changing the pin, problem solved.
Are you using a 18-135mm lens as well?

Lock your aperture ring at the max value..... That happens to me before when I change to my prime lens. For a moment I thgt the lense spoil....

Yes after resetting it to the max aperture it works again.

Thanks.

Will be binning the SD card since it keeps giving me problems. Be wary of buying any memory cards in China.
