Question Where To Buy Under Water Casing for FujiFilm 602Z

where to buy underwater casing for fujifilm 602Zoom?

if fujifilm 602z cant go underwater, i think i ll upgrade/downgrade to Ixus 400.
is it advisable to switch from 602z to ixus400?

I suggest invest a bit more money buy the proper UW housing. Ewa bags you need to dump air before diving and sometimes it is not watertight.

Default U/W housing for 602Z

Hi Kevin,

I'm also concerned with this exact same question as you are. I've searched around a lot for housings for the 602Z, but have not found any satisfactory answer yet.

The I went and checked out the Ewa-marine bags at FEG (film equipment gallery: 114 Sophia Road, Singapore 228177) but I found them to be not so adequate for my needs. I think they will hold the camera and keep the water out, but it is expensive $380 for essentially a water-tight bag and port. I cannot mount my strobes, and reaching the controls is not easy.

I have contacted Ikelite, Subal and Light & Motion who manufacture housings. Light & Motion said they don't do it for the 602Z, Subal replied they don't have ready made ones and custom made ones will be super expensive. (I've heard in the range of $4k). Ikelite has not replied yet.

I've also been to sea and sea (talked to Andew) and Oceanic (talked with Eric), but all replies coming back in the negative.

I like the 602Z a lot and feel that it would be quite suited for underwater use, the only problem is it is difficult to get a housing, if you don't want the ewa-marine bag. I don't know how enthusiastic you are about getting a housing, and how much you are willing to invest in the search. Perhaps if it is too much trouble, then I recommend the olympus 5050, it is very good for U/W, but if you are set on the 602Z, then please let me know if you come up with a good solution.
