Yes, D400 is just a rumors. But from the time frame, likely be out early 2009 (keep my finger cross). Just presume that the spec of D400 are stated as rumors.
I owned a D200, should I upgrade to D400? (same category) Or should I upgrade to a D700? (FX. higher grade, IMO) I would not be selling away my D200, be using it as a 2nd body. Lens owned: 50 f1.8 DX 18-200VR DX 70-300VRII DX Sigma 10-20 Which body would you buy? Any suggestion will be greatfull. ![]() Happy New Year !! (in advance) |

Well D3X is oso a rumor in the past... I believe D400 is really coming to store in 1st Qtr 2009...
In fact, I am facing the same situation as you. But I guess I will just wait and see the launch of D400, no harm waiting for a while more =) Even though FF really tempted me at times over and over again... ![]()

Getting a D700 would mean that you'll most probably have to change all of your DX lens in your collection. Gotta ask yourself if you ready for that?

so if i'm not wrong if you upgrade your system to D700, will you under-utilise your system since its a FF system? if you were moving on towards FF, i will give you my support for D700 |

Well, images above ISO800 in D200 are almost useless.
Therefore, getting a higher iso capability such as D700, or even the latest D400 coming should be the target for me. If it is as stated around S$2.6K, it is almost the same when I brought my D200 2 years back. I should grab it once it is out. So as to save a K or 2 for additional lens. Cheers !! |

D700 will give you enough fun otherwise you will miss sth by having D400 on hand.

Anyways, D700 still can use the DX lens... Just gotta be conscious about buying more lenses and making sure that these are FX from now on ? I bought the following lenses this year alone :- 1. N 18-135mm - DX 2. N 70-300mm VR - FX 3. N 50/f1.8 - FX 4. Tok 11-16mm - DX 5. S 150mm Macro - FX All with the intention that perhaps in the next body upgrade, I can be of a standard to put money down for a FF body...... But then again, I am sure there will be newer lenses then to tempt us all ! ![]()

With the launch of D3x, I suspect there will be a 24MP version of D700 (a.k.a D800 maybe). So if you are thinking of getting a D700, you may want to consider a second hand for now.
