Hello peeps,
Some shots i took from Marina Barrage. Sony A700, Tamron 17-50 and Sigma 105 Macro. Epic Light 1: HDR'ed, 3 shot +-2. Barely enough to get the highlights in. ![]() Epic Light 2: Decided this looked better non-HDR'ed ![]() City at Night: Waited for city lighting to balance with the sky. Optimum for me is 10s, f/11, ISO 100 for Singapore skyline. Your results may vary but this works for me. ![]() Water fountains: A little story about this pic. This pic is a composite of 3 different pictures. I wanted to get the city in focus with starbursts and capture the colour of the fountains. Problem was that the colour kept shifting, and with long exposures they would blend into some unappetising shade of blue-green. What I did was to take a picture at 15s @ f/11 ISO 100. This gave the cityscape with the starburst lights. Next, a picture 1/3s, f/3.2, ISO 400 for the fountain. This gave me the colour separation that i wanted. Lastly, another picture 30s @ f/11 ISO 100. This gave me a brighter Marina Barrage foreground. The pics were blended and masked in Photoshop to give the final. ![]() Love at the Marina: A lucky picture that I took when i first arrived at the barrage. Cleaned up the skyline (removed a stray building at extreme bottom-right of pic) and used the pen tool to pull select the sky area (difficult, especially with the couple) and pulled down the sky to make it more dramatic. ![]() Hope you like the pics and that my explanation helped you understand how I went about creating them. Keep the comments flowing! =) Cheers QX |
