The bits of blue sky really make the dark clouds look odd... the whole scene looks pretty gloomy other than those bits of blue sky. Good detail on the buildings. Which program are you using -- Photomatix?

Yeah, I don't see the bridge anywhere. Maybe he's standing on the bridge taking this photo.

I personally like the feel, however it's a bit slanted to the left

I like the sky and the buildings. But I don't really like whats in the water, patchy lights and too much ghosting. Suggestion, do a layer over those in the water to show only the normally exposed boats only. It might be better, I think.

It really is doomy and gloomy
That's the tower of London on the left, with docklands in the background...

That's the problem with holographic projection - I was looking from the other side

Is this pure HDR? There are strong repetitive pattern on the clouds, they look like they have been replicated many times. I thought the buildings and boats are from a good picture but the clouds and the water looked over the top.

I've seen some good HDR work by night86mare on his APAD and other posts. Some of it are so natural, you can hardly tell they are HDR but the colors and DR are great.

It is really difficult to achieve a surreal but yet not plasticky effect with HDR. I'm very much struggling with it myself.

This is the strangest post I've ever seen on CS. Not only is that not anywhere near Tower Bridge, the picture is something else. I've never seen clouds looking like that, the water and "aura" around the boats looks very weird too (some parts of the water are only in focus).

Very scary photo indeed!

As the others have pointed regarding the overprocessing. The repetitive cloud patterns could have been a result of bracketting many shots while the clouds were moving with the wind ?

Not sure... i had 5 exposures shot in JPEG -2, -1, 0 +1, +2 exposures
then tone mapped the Dynamic-Photo HDR.. i think i did bit of over-do tone mapping i guess..

But when i talk to some friends here.. they argue the best exposures for HDR is -5, 0 +5 (as in Nikon D90 D300 D700)

true, there is no tower bridge in the pic.

In fact that day was bit odd.. the temp was around 2deg. and sun playing hide & seek. While i took this pic.. there was sun light on the gerkin (the bullet shaped building) and in some portion of the river..
