I use ColourLab at Adelphi.. good quality..
The lady that does the printing is also extemely knowledgable and friendly. Once she did a custom crop for one of my photos - which was extremely important to me. She allowed me time to see and understand what was possible, which is commendable. Finally, they bear with my lack of remembering where I put those silly receipts for collection... oh lala! ![]() |

Give them one of the same photos that you gave the other lab and got back blur.. if they are better, you know what to do.. if they are not, you also know what to do..! I can tell you that the only blur images they give me back are the ones I gave them blur and I have been using them for a number of years! ![]() |

i'm a bit of purist when i do MF..so i rather have the prints done the traditional way.i believe the tonality will be better and the sharpness of the bokeh(if any)is smoother..
If it is just a digital printout,no point.. Anyone out there with the same thinking as me ?Or am i the only one ? |

If you come across a lab that still does please do let me know, I also prefer optical prints for large enlargements ![]() |

This lab provides the service using conventional machine, not digital:
Stanley Lim Colour Centre #02-03 Midlink Plaza, 122 Middle Road Their prices are reasonable too but they do not have slides service. |

They all have the optical machines, ie. print by laser process. You get sharper, more brillant images (works for me). And yes, the FDI ones do share with you some finer points w.r.t. your images if you ask. |

Azure,
optical lab printing is not achieved by laser, the process is similar to B&W darkroom enlarger where we project the negatives thru YMC filters and a lens onto the silver halide paper then processed out. IMO,I find it pointless to use 120 film but print out digitally,i might as well use a digital camera. ![]() |

Kex, did you manage to locate such a lab? I too am looking for a lab that's willing to do traditional printing.
Some time ago I was looking for someone who would do Cibachrome/Ilfochrome printing, and eventually found that Spectra does it. Not sure if they do traditional b/w or colour prints, but I suppose they might have the equipment. |

Their custom printing was the best in town and was all optical the last time I was there. Tel: 62929851 |
