After your comments, I do feel that the red is over saturated. Actually I did not add any saturation during post processing, just a bit of contrast plus sharpening. The shots were taken by D300 with picture control set to Neutral. For #4 I even bring down the exposure to avoid the red channel from burning out. Thanks for pointing out, I will pay more attention on the saturation next time. ![]() |

I agree, I think maybe running sat/noise reduction through the red channel would help a little.
I like the 2,3 & especially 4 - Terrific pose ![]() Merry Christmas (Our birds have fleeces on presently )

Over saturation, nay. Tell it to the bird. It is natural that a Crimson Sunbird red is saturated in itself.
That's as Crimson a Sunbird as it is. For those who shot a Crimson will understand. In fact the red is very well controlled already. I would say well done, except that horizontal brach in the first pic is distracting (not that you can do anything about it) Last edited by chngpe01; 29th December 2008 at 07:06 PM. |
