Went to SBG Yesterday for some practice and was so lucky that I able to shot 1 cute small squrrel and the white beautiful swan ^ ^
All shots are with setting : 100mm macro 1:2 lens with f/9, 1/100 and ISO 200 Just while I was exploring the near the lake (further inside), so do this little squreel and we met each other side by side haha, quickly I took the shot and then he ran away. #1 ![]() Was so lucky this beautiful swan swim towards my direction while I was resting at the wooden bridge and I have chance to get this nice shots fast. #2 ![]() #3 ![]() #4 ![]() #5 ![]() Thanks for viewing ^^ |

lucky guy! I saw the swans but they were only grooming themselves and sleeping. ![]()

For some reasons, your shots are lacking in sharpness, not sure why??

What metering did you use? i suppose you use centre for all the shots before you chanced upon the squirrel and swan hence either not enough time to change or either forgot
The details in the fur is all blown out. Compo is not strong either, keep shooting. |

Since you have one of the latest technology (D90) in your hands, why not switched your camera to AF-C with Dynamic Area AF to see how the camera perform instead of using manual focusing. You could even switch the AF area mode to automatic-area AF to understand how the camera select its AF points.
Built up the trust and understand your camera, in the event that you do not have time to do a proper focus, you can confidently switch you cam to automatic-area AF and trust that it will do a good job giving you time to concentrate on composition. ![]() |
