Default Cable release from Perly

Hi one and all, I am about to purchase my 1st Diana + from lomoasia but I was thinking whether I can use the cable release I got from Perly (which I am using for my Holga 135 now) for the Diana + too. If I can, meaning the cable release is universal, regardless of brand of camera, then I don't have to get anymore cable release for the new Diana +.

Please advice and shed some light

Diana doesn't support cable release.
Unlike the holga or most film cameras.
The shutter assembly is on the lens barrel itself.
There is a small gadget included that will enable you to hold the shutter open.

Oh, miss out on that detail on the website.

So can I say that I still have to physically touch the camera to open the shutter, thus moving it A BIT?

Whats your main intention for gettin the shutter release?
Long exposure, shoot yourself or steady shutter press?

If its just Long Exposure.
what you can try is open shutter with the lens cap still on.
By right... total darkness means nothing will be captured on film.
When its all prepared for long exposure, then remove the lens cap to expose the film

anything else, either ask someone to help you or train to have steady hands.

There is a cable release for the Diana+ but Lomography doesn't seem to be selling it separately. I saw it in the Diana+ package thingie only. Maybe just wait a lil longer.

I think Diana + comes with a shutter lock or something like that. I think that should be enough for my usage.

I place my Holga on a tripod and expose the film to a longer shutter release. If Diana + is a pinhole camera, in some ways, and if I am going to capture pinhole-d images, I guess I would need to use the cable release. Thus the question.

But I learn something new too. The "leaving the lens cap on" method. SOunds great!
