Whatever you got flared right in the middle of the picture!

You got an UWA?

Is a lens hood attached? Will it eliminate the flare?

It might or might not. It depends on the angle of the light source. Sometime you can just use your hand to block the flare.

I took off the hood and I knew about the flares, don't mind those unless I'm taking a serious shot. The sun was directly in front of me and I think the Massa filter it came with was cheap.

As Jopel said.

Hey Ombre, why so grumpy one?

From the perspective, it's a wide angle lens.
From the CA and softness at the corners, it's unlikely a pro-grade glass.
Will you reveal the 'answer'? If so, when?

What's a pro grade glass?

You gave a few hints, think of lens that has these problems :-)

Oh yeah hor...
Didn't notice the CA. Looks quite ....
Maybe it's also caused by the direct sunlight straight ahead.
Hmmmm, it's a UWA; TS is a Nikon user? If so, this lens is not the Nikkor 14-24 f/2.8, I would assume.
I don't know... Not too familiar with the characteristics of these lenses. Don't wanna get flamed for guessing the wrong brand/model...

Haha sorry about the grumpiness! I realized! I couldn't guess the lens but the first thing I saw was the flare!

I'm guessing Sigma 20mm F1.8?

What system are you on anyway?

Hey don't be so anal one, its just a happy snap. I don't have time to spend hours on Photoshop to fix up mistakes ;-)

I'm using a Nikon D50, oldie but goldie.

actually, TS shot quite into the sun, is the flare avoidable in this case?

without looking at the exif, the focal length seems to be anywhere from 24-35mm. not exactly UWA territory

if it is indeed UWA, the effect not really there leh. the car not "distorted" enuff

Haha... Think he's referring to the Nikon PC-E NIKKOR 24mm f/3.5D ED. You can check it out here:

Haha no man, I'm not into tilt technology at all, might be fun when I'm 50 though.
