Excellent series!

You got both the focus and the exposure right. I think the two birds are less capable than you. You got both the bird and fish.

The two birds must be fishing rather close to you for you to capture the action at 420mm?

Btw, did you try evaluative metering mode for these action shots? Until now, I am unsure of how to use the center weighted metering mode and, often, the evaluative metering mode proves to be inadequate. Looks like the center weighted mode is better for these action shots...

Wow! Great shots. How fast was the bird moving. I doubt I could even get the bird within the frame!

The birds are not close enough.

I suggest you read up more on how to use the histogram, and don't be afriad to use the Manual mode.

Stunning shots! The 1D camera in the pro's hand really is something.
Can share about the histogram thing you mention?

Thanks guys!
I find it's talons very "cute" ...... it's retracted behind the feathers and not visible. But it's a lighter bird, so when there's strong gust of wind, it's blown off course easily. (the WBSE is like a bomber .... lumbering and steady)

Google is your best friend.

AI Servo, center point with auto expansion.
