Default Blur or not sharp photos...

when at full optical zoom on campact cam or prosumer....the pics i took tend to be out of focus or pics taken are not sharp....can anyone tell me the problem?

There could be a whole lot of reasons. Off hand, it could be due to your hand shake(if you are not using a tripod). The will be accentuated especially when you are using a longer focal length.

dun think is due to handshake coz the cam has dual stabilser....could it be ouf of focus??

stabiliser is not a godly remedy...

haha yes..when i zoom from 1x to 6x, max optical zoom, i dun find the sharpness...unlike dslr...its still sharp...unless i place the cam nearer rather than zoom in

Then you need to activate the compact's macro (flower icon) mode for closeups. Try it or post a pic here.

I agree with Kit. There could many reasons to this.

But I believe this is a common issue present in almost all pns cameras? Optical zooms in pns are not like dslr zoom lenses.

Maybe, just maybe, the optical zoom is mixed with digital zoom. Or the lens construction is poor and using the cheaper glass.

I suspect you have went into more than just optical zoom and into digital zoom.

or maybe the shutter went really low?
maybe you could post some pics together with the specs?
