if you are referring to a part that comes in the box when you bought your flash, yes, the brand does matter. for instance, nikon flash stands have a small hole in the mount on the stand for the locking pin to be secured. not sure about canon though.
but if you are referring to those small mini tripod that you get with compact camera purchases, you can get them from the same shops that sell cameras. the best place you can try is orient photo at SLS level 6. |

I'm not sure where you can get the stand for canon, but if you want a nikon one you can get it from lord. best you call before you go, this item is hard to get.

e-bay has tons. Usually below US$10, and shipping is usually cheap for such a small/light item.

maybe i'll check out one from nikon.. I don't think i need a locking mechanism. just need it to stand. won't be doing ebay coz kinda need it soon, can't wait for the shipping! haha.. okay thanks! ![]()
