Question Nixvue DA Lite detection problem

    Hi,

Just got the Nixvue DA Lite. Somehow my comp can't seem to detect the device.

    - I've installed the hdd
    - connected it to the power cable & USB cable
    - 1st time I selected USB connect, comp prompted to install driver
    - Driver installed successfully, but the local hdd icon for the Nixvue doesn't appear even though on the Nixvue, it states 'USB connected'

    Anyone can help out here?
    Thanks.

Are you using WinXP? It could be "disk drive letter assignment" problem.

    Yes, it is downward compatible.

did you reboot after installing the drivers?
Maybe after you reboot the PC, disconnect the Nixvue and reconnect it, then activate the USB connect again.

By the way, you are not the 1st person I know to encounter problems detecting the Nixvue in the PC.

Can pm your questions to EastGear and maybe he can assist you in your product enquires.

    Hi,

There are 2 possiblities why Win98SE cannot detect the Nixvue Digital Album

    1) Existing USB devices drawing too much power.

Solution: Try connecting the DA with all other USB devices unplugged. If the DA can now be detected, it is possible that existing USB devices is drawing more power than the PC Bus is able to support. Getting a powered USB hub would solve this problem.

    2) Win98SE have known USB problems and incompatiblity issues

    Solution:

Download Win98SE USB patch from this website, http://www.usbman.com/win98seusbguide.htm

do try to upgrade your OS if possible, USB devices are appearing everywhere and win98 was first designed without native USB support, thus explaining the host of problems it have with such devices.
