yet another one that wants to buy lens for the sake of having one more thing in the cabinet.. two totally different focal length ranges, for different purposes.. but just wants to buy.. argh
zzz here is some advice, wait until you know which one you want more or just buy both the second hand buyers will be very happy sooner or later, i suspect, if you take the second path Last edited by night86mare; 17th December 2008 at 05:24 AM. |

yeah have to agree with night86mare bro on that man.. These 2 lenses serve completely different purposes!! They can't possibly be compared which one is better to which! Why don't you think which lens you will use more often? I bought the 17-40 myself first as I had no need for a telephoto lens yet then... Afterwhich I got the 70-200 for portraits as well as for telephoto shots.. But if you already have a kit lens and you don't NEED the 17-40, just get the 70-200 f4 non IS then... Don't buy lenses for the sake of buying or to match other people's egos.. Get what you really need~

The lens that will empty your wallet the most. That way you will not be tempted again.
