Why are you so lazy? You might want to tell us your Camera model.

as in i knwo what it means, when the pointer points sth off centre, meaning above or below average brightness

but what does it means when all is lit, and it does a 'count down' thingy
like

Code:
|||||||||
i|||||||i
ii|||||ii
iii|||iii
iiii|iiiii
[each row represent a moment in time]

where | is lit bars,
i is unlit bars

The time you spend asking here and waiting for answers is more than an average reader needs for the manual.

to all those who asked me to read the fking manual

please read the fking manual YOURSELF. and tell me WHERE is it.

i have read the FKING manual, and there is nothing on it.

i seriously suspect, those (selected few who answered without their brains) know nothing, or assume that everything is in the manual.

Well if you are NOT going to answer the question, then keep your comment to yourself.

What you have done is as much as a kid answering a comprehension question "Where can you find evidence for xxx?" and you answer "in the comprehension passage."

-----------------------------------

LOOK. IT DOES NOT tells the exposure. because ALL BARS ARE LIT.
what does it means WHEN ALL BARS ARE LIT.

ERROR? METERING? FOCUSING? RECHARGING?

well tell me.
perhaps those selected few should RTFM as well.

peaced(pissed) off -_-

PS. thanks to all those who sincerely tried to help by answering.. but it just somehow doesnt tells any exposure at all

Since you said there's nothing about it stated in the mannual then, there's seriously something wrong.

I think for most of us, it's a common sense that all function of the camera should be stated clearly in the manual. I mean, isn't it very stupid of Canon to have a function but it's not stated in the manual. But, let me guess, it's probably the AEB.

Try calling Canon they should be the best person to help you.

My guess is that U might turn the red eye reduction mode.
As you might not know when you photoshot at disco party, some people will have a red blood shoot eyes.
When U have "red eye reduction" turn on, it will turn on the front lamp, & as you looking at the view finder, you see the 'count down' thingy' then all lit.
This setting is included at the old EOS menu....
.... it a guessing... so let me know if it correct ya

If I'm not wrong. It's the auto focus assist lamp working. When the camera is unable to focus. It turns on the "lamp" at the grip. The countdown is the time it takes to focus, hence before that the camera doesn't allow the photo to be taken.

If you can't find your manual in the package and you are not able to locate the manual on any other media (CD perhaps?) then it's a good thing to check with the shop where you got the cam from. The manual is part of the package you have paid for.
As other have mentioned: ALL functions of a camera are explained in the manual. We will gladly help you if you have question but all the members here in the forum deserve that you do some homework first. That's basic politeness in the same way as people telling you to read the manual first.
Your attitude leaves much to be desired. Learn to accept critics.
