Default 350d vs 1000d vs 450d

Dear All Gurus

Im the user or Canon 350D, now i got think to upgrade, but i have 2 choices either 1000D or 450D, from the price it almost same, just slightly different, so i need the advice from all of you, which one the better one, is it 450D or 1000D ?

Heard some rumors that 1000D is a lousy camera if its compare with 450D even with my existing 350D ?

any advice ?

Thanks

Regards

Why do you want to upgrade? What features or functions of the 1000D or 450D do you need and which are not available with the 350D?
There are numerous pages in Internet comparing the specs of these camera. read them carefully. If something is 'lousy' or not depends on the intended purpose and the person's skills to use the camera .. and sometimes on the quality.

Go with 450D. A bit higher will be the 40D (if still available).

I compared the 450D vs 1000d and decided to go on 1000d because i sharing with my sis whom prefers 1000d unit weight and 1000d promo gives me a 75-300mm len for 59.00 plus the gifts were more attractive....more important i am a newbie and dont need to use the advanced features of 450d....i am considering spending on a good lens and learn the skills to shoot a good photo.

450D anytime. 1000D is really a redundant release - it's almost a 350D Mark II.

Anyway, looks like you're already very comfortable with xxxD series' built and functions, else, the 40D is definitely worth considering.

i've got to disagree with you here. i used to think that way till a friend explained it to me.

the 1000D is much more user friendly for a newbie compared to the 450D. its designed such a way that it suits more for the newbies. every camera has its pros and cons

I had 1000D and I say go for 450D. Reason... spot metering. There is no spot metering in 1000D.

IMHO, keep your 350D, save enough and go to 40/50D.
not point changing within the same level of expertise.

Keep your 350D, which is a good camera, unless you are looking for 5fps, ISO3200, better WB and spot metering than 350D.

I purchased a 2nd hand 20D which cost only 60% of my 350D price and I am very happy with my 20D. Now 350D become my backup camera.

keep your money...350D to 1000D/450D is more of an update rather then an upgrade. Instead go for 40D if possible as i do find it pretty good value for money even when compared to the newer 50D.

For that...might as well get Pentax K200D at $1000-ish local with included dual kit lens. beats the 450D and 20D in my opinion + the body is weather-sealed and uses AA rather then proprietary batteries. from your requirements, looks like you dont really need liveview at all. The K200D when looked closer can be considered an average working man`s Pro body.
