Hmmm, the most people can advise you is reset your camera, switch on and off, take out battery etc.
Take it to Canon. Good luck. |

Anyway, that screen looks almost the same to my Nokia screen(when I dropped it) but all I had to do was switch on and off.
Just bring it to Canon unless you want to wait till after your trip. I had a 50D and it never reacted like that. |

WOw. Seems Canon has many models having LCD problem. Guess only Canon can help you. Better make a lot of noise so that they can give you a new set.

when the time i bought my 50D it's already 1.0.3 and yesterday i reinstall the same version "50d00103.fir" and didn't solve my problem..
I giving up to try anything to get my live view back, since i still can take picture as normal without live view. i think the only way is go to Canon Service Centre when i back from my Malaysia trip..

Feel a bit disappointed of Canon although I'm a Canon user since last past 7 years..

Have you try removing the CR2016 batt for a while as well?

If you go CSC - and I guess it is in warranty - they most probably will change new LCD (which might take ages) or they'll give you a new camera.
If I were you I would request on the actions Canon would take rather than just leaving the camera there. Ask them what they are going to do. If they tell you what I mentioned above; then the consumer in you would likely verbally press for the latter option. Whether you get it or not is a whole different issue. Good luck man. It's sad, the camera is good. I empathise, I have gotten 'lemons' a few times in my camera purchases as well. All the best! |
