I bought my canon 40D like a week or week and a half ago, and today suddenly ERR99 :P i read quite abit so i decided to pop the battery pack and clean contacts but after awhile i realised that errrrrrrrrr nope it aint working so i brought it down to CSC. Just wanted to know if it's normal. I am more amused that angry even though i had an event to take but Canon gave me a EOS 300D!!!!!??? hahaha ok... that not too good. :P but as for canon's service, i think it's superb, the fella told me that they had to take a week ? but when i told him it's urgent, he brought it forward to like wed
good service canon. Anyway any replies? thanks |

Nothing like what I've encountered with my 40D over the past year though. Never anything of the sort really.

Strange, normally is the lens contact.
Anyway, you may delete your signature since you have a 40D now ![]()

I had an Err 99 but it was the lens that was causing it, not the camera. Different lenses worked okay so I had to have the offender repaired. Err 99 seems to be the Canon catch all error and doesn't have one specific meaning but, as others have said, lens contact is the most common reason

So you got yourself a Canon 40D, i am contemplating now on Canon 40D or Nikon 90D. It's a tough fight. Any cons in terms of functionality and noise level? How much did you get yours, any good promos? Thanks man. |
