exposure is ok. I guess the side of the ship would have been underexposed otherwise.
can't say much for the composition though. The dull hull (hahah it rhymes) dominates the photo. BORING.

This doesn't even look HDR. Looks liek a simple snapshot. Don't know what you're trying to show here.

I suppose this could have been achieved in a single exposure, with FILL-IN FLASH. So it doesn't count as HDR.... sorry!

I feel that there is too much white in this photo to be striking.
The dynamic range is also limited, so after PP it will look 'normal', or like what ZerocoolAstra said, achievable in a single exposure if there is sufficient lighting on the hull. (not with a flash though) |

What is HDR? Can any camera take HDR pictures? Or it is a camera brand?

3 exposures of +- 1ev
original underexpose pic have good sky details but super dark ship hull and the foreground floor, normal expose pic can see details of the ship hull and the details of the ship in the background but sky is all white, last over expose picture have clear details of the ship hull and the railing and ground but sky and back ground ship totally wash out

it actually is hdr , just doesn't show it that well , a photo doesn't have to look like the painting to be hdr .
In this case , the lighting imo didn't need hdr perhaps ,need to to see the original to really say. |

agree... does not need to look like a painting... but here.. i cannot see the HDR...???
Maybe bcos the sky is too blown... but if it's under-exposed actually u can do some rescuing i think.... you can even layer several tweaked versions of the same photo to bring out/ dumb down the details... |

agree with your point!
![]() The ship's hull is kinda HUGE. Not possible to fill-in flash, unless with multiple flashguns... haha. The photo doesn't look like those HDR 'paintings' you see on the web, but I guess it counts as HDR? Combining bracketed exposures together counts as HDR right? Otherwise I don't know of another term. But the photo lacks 'oomph'. There's no subject really, because the big hull takes up so much of the frame.

the point i was trying to make was, there is no clear subject here, not much thoguht put into the composition.
the railings serve no purpose. even just a simple exclusion, which can be done frankly.. would improve this significantly. concentrate more on the things that matter - like composition, rather than working out an effect. it doesn't matter if yoru hdr is done spectacularly if the composition is lacklustre. |
