Default What is the best Video Editing Software?

Initially wanted to edit some VOB files off my Sony Digicam which has been burnt to DVD. But cannot import them for editing. First choice is to get a free software to convert to something that MM2 can edit. Later on, can consider buying a software that will help me do all. Any comments?

Your title says you are looking for the best video editing software, but I think that's not really what you want. How could the best be free?

Do a search for vob2mpg. This is a free program that comverts the DVD VOB file into mpg format. If MM2 cannot accept mpg files you can use Super converter, also free, to convert to avi.
